Steven Cheek, the head of Ohio's Black Republican organization is on to discuss that Black Republicans meeting in DC. It's been on about 15 minutes as I type, and I need to advise the Republican Party to tell white supporters from Middle America to SHUT THE HELL UP. They say some ignorant shit.

The "African American Leadership Forum" was called together by white Republicans. You can't attend unless you're nominated by a Republican senator. I'm sorry, but that just doesn't qualify as African American leadership.

At P6's suggestion I watched about 10 minutes of the interview with Stephen Cheeks. I couldn't figure out whether to laugh or cry when he spoke of his pride at being selected by a white U.S. Senator from Ohio (it really doesn't matter whether his patron is a Republican or Democrat) to attend an African American Leadership Conference. Mr. Cheeks said that in order to attend you had to be selected by a member of the Senate. The conference is sponsored by Rick Santorum and Kaye Bailey Hutchinson. It appeared to me that Mr. Cheeks did not regard this event and the manner in which attendees were selected as a trifle odd.
Question: In order to be a black Republican does one have to surrender one's entire sense of irony?
