I think there's a typo here:
Lokeinsky has denied Ellison's charges and said his suggestion that union members join the NAACP is a desire to give the union a voice in the organization.
''It's absolutely not a power play,'' Ellison said earlier. "The only way to have a voice is to become a member. It has nothing to do with the current president.''
I think the second paragraph is quoting Lokeinsky, not Ellison And I think it's bullshit anyway. if this
In a May 12 recruitment letter, FOP union president Jack Lokeinsky called for officers to help oust the current NAACP administration
...is true. In any event, it should be seriously enlightening for folks who depend absolutely on coalition politics to advance the interests of Black constituencies.

The FOP leadership has been angry at the NAACP for holding a series of town hall meetings on racial profiling.
NAACP branch president Marsha Ellison called the union's action "a blatant attack on the NAACP."
The meeting this morning will be at the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, 1300 W. Broward Blvd.
A panel of community leaders will participate in the discussion, including Marsha Ellison, branch president, Adora Obi Nweze, president of the Florida State Conference NAACP, U. S.
