I was once asked what it would take to make me work with Republicans. I said because I don't trust the party and because it's obvious they respect nothing but power, I would have to have a threat to hold over their heads.

I would seem Republicans themselves have the same idea. I say this because the same Mark Foley that

engaged in a series of sexually explicit instant messages with current and former teenage male pages.

In one message, ABC said, Foley wrote to one page: "Do I make you a little horny?"

In another message, Foley wrote, "You in your boxers, too? ... Well, strip down and get naked."

was chairman of the Missing and Exploited Children's Caucus., He introduced legislation in July to protect children from exploitation by adults over the Internet...which discovery made me shake my head sadly.

"We track library books better than we do sexual predators," Foley has said.

Yeah...seems he would know. His position on the Caucus probably "forced" him to locate all the NAMBLA porn on the net.

And of the resignation Denny (like the restaurant I never go to) Hasturt said "He's done the right thing."

Spare me. If HE had done the right thing he wouldn't be sweating that Florida seat, now would he?

Rep. Alexander, R-La, knew about this some 10 months ago. Rep. Shimkus, R-IL, knew because Speaker Hasturt, R-whatever told him about it.

The page worked for Rep. Rodney Alexander, R-La., who said Friday that when he learned of the e-mail exchanges 10 to 11 months ago, he called the teen's parents. Alexander told the Ruston Daily Leader, "We also notified the House leadership that there might be a potential problem," a reference to the House's Republican leaders.

House Speaker Dennis Hastert said Friday he had asked the chairman of the House's page board, Rep. John Shimkus, R-Ill., to investigate the page system.

And what did they do?

Nothing. Why? Because he was deputy whip, and on the Ways and Means committee. And he would still be if this hadn't come out...remember, they KNEW Foley is a perv. THEY ALREADY HAD THE EMAILS. 

So which is the ethical party? Which is the obvious seeker of power above all else?
