We noted the grief of Pfc. LaVena Johnson's family over the suspicious nature of her death in Iraq. I commented on how the evidence strongly reminded me of this

Cortez said this week that former private Steven D. Green raped the girl before he did. Then Green shot her father, mother and sister before shooting the teen in the head, Cortez said.

He also testified that the soldiers tried to burn the girl's body. They burned their own clothes and threw the murder weapon, an AK-47, into a canal in an effort to dispose of the evidence.

The story of this petition begins with an email I received from a gentleman who asked if there was a letter circulating which demands that the Army reopen its investigation of the death of Pfc. LaVena Johnson, something that people might sign and pass on to others.

Thus this web-based petition to the Armed Services Committees of the Senate and the House of Representatives. It asks the members of those bodies to compel the Army to reexamine the clouded circumstances of the death of LaVena Johnson. Please read the petition. Please sign it.
