McCain had a LOT of people fooled for a long time. Even I gave him the benefit of the doubt (something I no longer extend in almost any direction nowadays). His physically embracing Bush last Presidential season, his recanting his anti-demagog position, all his subsequent behavior shows he's just not the straight talker he claimed to be.
Now, the last nail in his honorable reputation's coffin was caught by Crooks and Liars.
During an interview on "The Situation Room" this afternoon, John McCain told Wolf that he needs to "get up to speed" and stop reporting three-month-old news from Iraq. According to McCain, the surge is working! and the streets of Baghdad are safe for Americans to go strolling down. The only problem? Michael Ware, who is, ya know, in Baghdad, says McCain hasn't a clue…
"Honestly, Wolf, you'll barely last twenty minutes out there. I dont know what part of Neverland Senator McCain is talking about when he says we can go strolling in Baghdad."

I would like to humbly suggest that the good Senator be allowed the oportunity to prove his position by getting a small video camera and taking that unaccompanied stroll he mentioned. If he's correct, he will have the video to prove it. Â
If he tries it, it's much more likely that he will be able to relive those POW days for a brief time until some righteous freedom fighter gives him a checkup from the neck up.
