A couple of things bother me about this

so we all know that occasionally, bloggers hit their wall and they just can’t do it any more. that it just builds up and builds up and builds up and finally, things collapse, and there’s the deep horrible feeling in the pit of your stomach that you want nothing more than to explode your blog or write a massive fuck you to the entire world?

I’m at that point.

I’ve been feeling this way for a while–and tonight–I’m at that breaking point. I can not speak or think or act coherently at the moment. I will just tell you some things.

Okay, not bother. Just feel like commenting on a couple of things.

And goddamn it, yes it bothers the shit out of me that when black or white women are shit on by sexism, men of color have something to say about it, but when latin@ mothers are fucking ripped from their children, imprisoned, deported–there’s silence–silence that is interrupted by nationalistic fuckheads that call me traitor and vendida. Is it being a traitor to remember your own? It’s being a traitor to love the your sisters and mothers and aunts and grandmothers?

Mea culpa. This is the problem with my lack of empathy.

As a Black partisan, immigration is, for the most part, something I comment on more than concern myself with. And this is all playing out just as I said it would when it first came up. The economic, political and physical (i.e., 12 million folks deeply woven into the nation is every way) realities leave no alternative. Plus, there are some serious, powerful voices saying all I could ever say about it.

But as a human, I hold a lot of positions that have no bearing on Black partisan politics. I link a lot of stuff that that has no bearing on Black partisan politics other than that we're in the mix. I do coalition stuff, but not much.

And as a person...well, you haven't seen much of me as a person. I never considered it necessary. Maybe I'm wrong. As a person, I'm more concerned with losing clear thinking folks to harrassment.

I can't do less Black partisan, but I may be able to do more coalition stuff.
