The daily Iraq violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. All times are Iraq local times.

BAGHDAD
-At 9 a.m., one civilian was killed and three others wounded when an IED (improvised explosive device) explosion targeted civilians near Al Muthanna police station in the Zayuna neighborhood of east Baghdad.
-At 9:30 a.m, five civilians were injured in an IED explosion in the Mansour neighborhood of downtown Baghdad.
-At 10 a.m., four students were killed and 25 injured when mortar shell hit the education college (Ibn Al Haitham college) in Adhemiyah neighborhood of northeast Baghdad.
-At 11 a.m., 25 civilians were killed and 60 injured in a parked car bomb explosion near a market in the Amil neighborhood of southwest Baghdad.
-At 2:30 p.m., nine students in the Islamic education college were killed and two were injured when gunmen attacked their minibus in Tunis neighborhood of east Baghdad.
Eyewitnesses told police that the gunmen set a fake checkpoint and before shooting at the bus and running away.
-At 5 p.m., one civilian was killed by American troops in the Bayaa neighborhood of southwest Baghdad.
-At 6 p.m., national police abducted four civilians in the Al Risala neighborhood of southwest Baghdad.
-At 7 p.m., a member of the national police forces was killed and three others wounded when a suicide car bomber attacked their patrol under Al Mikaneek bridge in the Doura neighborhood of southwest Baghdad.
-33 bodies were found in Baghdad Tuesday.
27 bodies were found in Karkh, the western part of Baghdad: 12 in Amil; six in Bayaa; three in Saidiyah; two in Shula; two in Jihad; one in Jamia and 1 in Amiriyah.
Six bodies were found in Rusafa, the eastern part of Baghdad: two in Sadr City; two in Zafaraniyah and two in Ubaydi.

KIRKUK PROVINCE
-Early Tuesday, Iraqi police found a body on the Kirkuk-Qarah Hanjeer motorway, near an asphalt factory in east Kirkuk.
Police sources said that the body was found after receiving information from citizens. The body was handcuffed and blindfold with signs of shooting in the head.
-Monday evening, two civilians were injured in an IED explosion near the Tabarak building in downtown Kirkuk City.
-Early Tuesday, a truck driver was injured when gunmen attacked him on the Kirkuk-Rashad motorway in west Kirkuk City.
-Iraqi army personnel found the body of an Asian man on Tikrit-Kirkuk motorway.

BASRA PROVINCE
-A police source in Basra City said that gunmen killed Soltan Hairan, a member of the local council of Zuber district. The source said the gunmen attacked Hairan in his house, shooting him in the head.

SALAHUDDIN PROVINCE
-The joint coordination center in Salahuddin said that gunmen kidnapped Sheikh Mohammed Jasim Al-Abbas, the sheikh of Al-Ahbab tribe. The source said that the incident happened Monday evening when gunmen set a fake checkpoint near the Yathrib district, east of the town of Balad. The gunmen stopped the car in which Sheikh Al-Abbas was riding, abducting him and taking him to an unknown place.

DIYALA PROVINCE
-An officer in the Iraqi army in the Ghalibiyah district said that gunmen killed six citizens from one family when they set a fake checkpoint near in Ghalibiyah Tuesday afternoon. Gunmen stopped the family's car, then shot and killed them all.
