All respect and no restraint

He's insane. The Commander in Chief is insane.

I'm serious.

Report: In Meeting, ‘Wild-Eyed’ Bush Thumped Chest While Repeating ‘I Am The President!’

Georgie Anne Geyer writes today in the Dallas Morning News about President Bush’s strange behavior during a recent meeting with “[f]riends of his from Texas.”

But by all reports, President Bush is more convinced than ever of his righteousness.

Friends of his from Texas were shocked recently to find him nearly wild-eyed, thumping himself on the chest three times while he repeated “I am the president!” He also made it clear he was setting Iraq up so his successor could not get out of “our country’s destiny.”

If it were anyone other than Georgie Anne Geyer, I'd go Huh?

But her creds are bona fide with me. I believe what she writes.

I think we already suspected he was crazy, long before anyone else would admit it out loud.

Holy Shit!

I thought we were in trouble before, I just didn't know were were this screwed....

fresh report on an old story folks...,

trenchant analysis of his pathology was furnished a couple of years ago - with all due seriousness. the question now, as then, what will YOU do about it? How will you engage with the collective that he exemplifies?

me? I'm not even going to pretend. that malthusian solution to the human evolutionary blind alley becomes more alluring every.single.day....,

We Knew It All Along But...

...now other folks are picking up on it. The pressure is getting to this guy. Prayer and stubborness will only take you so far. I never thought he was especially tough minded. All of the poseurs on the political scene - Democrats and Republicans alike - have conned people into believing that stubborness and an inability to admit that you made a mistake are signs of being tough minded. It all a pose.

Clinton's absurd dalliance with Monica Lewinsky was his way of saying that he had had enough and couldn't take it anymore. George the Second has probably reached his point of departure as well.

I just note how insecure

I just note how insecure you have to be to beat your chest and shout about how you're in charge.

I think he's losing it because he's lost control of his war. NOTHING serious comes out of the White House anymore. The military actually is in charge in Iraq for the first time.

Who's In Charge

George the Second is really not in charge of anything at all. Events have outstripped him. He and what's left of his team are playing for time. I think the American War in Iraq was the major catylst contributing to his fall from grace but if it wasn't Iraq, then he and his team would have found something else to run aground on. I wouldn't be surprised if he starts drinking again.

genie out of the bottle...,

or is that "thumb out of the dam?"

What these fools embody has profoundly undermined the consensus hallucination required to maintain good governance in this country.  More folks from across a broader spectrum question more things than ever previously in the history of a mass media mediated society.  G-Dub has served very well as an American tipping point...,
