because to me, he's not crazy at all..., he's a broken machine - no doubt - but he's fully and completely internally consistent, and, he's executing his own the logic in which he has been instructed as flawlessly as you or I execute our own.

think about it brah..., the instant you allow for the possibility that the overwhelming majority of these folks are memetic predators then the game is already be over. OTOH - the minute you concede that perhaps, just perhaps, the old coot is nothing more than memetic prey, the result of systematic manipulation by a smaller though heavily empowered coterie of very intentional memetic predators, then game on.

I'll bet you a dollar that this old dood is salt of the earth and basically decent. I make a point of regularly hanging out and transacting with lot of old riffraff just like this coot. To know him is to have him love you.
