All respect and no restraint

The end of the quietest blog feud in history

Had to talk to ODub for a minute.

Our Cosby-based difference started when he emailed me an invitation to join that conversation on his site. Having linked to each other in the past, I was pretty sure he knew I'd disagree. I was like, "WTF?" but he pointed out that was too subtle for it to be an attack coming from him. I had to acknowledge that. He, on the other hand, acknowledge that The Cosby Approach would require every Black person to be perfect as no one else would have to. HE explained his insistence on NOT being The Black Blogger came from being linked by Instapundit with, "See? Here's a Black guy who..." and yeah that's just like "You're one of the good ones." ANd I told him if he just stopped saying "I caught all kinds of heck last time" when he makes a post supporting Cosbyisms (even though he did catch hell) it would be all good as far as I'm concerned.

There was bullshitting slotted between the statements. We are both bloggers, after all. Bullshit is in our blood.

Non-bullshit too. This is his second Take Back America conference. At the first, 2005, he was The Black Blogger. Last year was a bit better I hear.

This year, as I said, there's a lot more Black folks, as speakers and participants, than I expected. A big chunk of it is the hip-hop caucus but I think Sen. Obama's candidacy has brought a lot of folks out. Since I haven't chosen a candidate yet I can speculate: If the good Senator doesn't get the nomination, a lot of Black folks may fall off. And that would not be good.
