We got a joint RSS feed working at the Media Bloggers Association web site. All the credentialled bloggers are listed there too...third name from the bottom is a bit of a surprise.

And by way of surprises, Cobb placed this post in his "Punch in the nose" category.

Prometheus 6 demonstrates his distrust of all things Republican and Right as he calls upon his readers to protest the involvement of Frank Luntz in the Democrat Presidential debates with Tavis Smiley (and Professor Kim).

I don't want to hear shit about "fair and balanced." It looks way too much like part of the CBCI deal, and if Mr. Smiley is in bed with Fox News it's going to change the way I categorize him. Immediately. The inclusion of progressive bloggers was sort of last minute and I can't help but wonder if Luntz' appearance on the press release is connected.

Let him appear on Smiley's show the next day, I could shiv a gitz about that.

Yes, I'm still going, yes I'm paying my own way like all the others. And now, part of the reason is so can pass judgement on the media aspect as well as the political one.

It seems to me that if the candidates had anything worth saying or listening to, then such matters would be of little concern. But when people actually wonder aloud if their integrity is being compromised by being in the same room with people with different opinions, it's a sign that it's more about hate than ideas.

To which I replied.

I felt a little guilty blowing off all Cobb's work with just 14 words, so I thought I'd expand on it.

If I really felt I would be contaminated by being in the same room as any given person, that third-from-the-bottom person on the MBA unified feed page would have done it. But as I said, I'll be passing judgement (not on my blogging peers, folks). If they're lucky a little of my integrity will rub off on 'em.

But it won't. Integrity is internal.

Besides, I only spoke of Luntz' integity because that is what's at issue. Nor have I mentioned his political opinions in my objections, either. My issue is his having been repremanded twice by the professional organizations he belongs to.

And on that note, not limited to Cobb at all, it would be nice to be accused of saying something I actually said. Just once. I don't remember being attacked for anything I actually said by anyone but The Everlasting Phelps in the four years P6 has been around.

I will give Cobb this, though...I do distrust all things Republican. And I do support the protest. So two out of five assertions...let's say that post gets a "gentleman's D."
