6-1 in the second set with a 124 mph serve that just pretzled poor Bertolli up..., with this one, Venus enters the winningest tier of women players, OF ALL TIME!!!!!!

Yeah. She ate the child up with that serve, several times.

I like what the aanouncers just said..."All in all, it seems like when one of the Williams sisters wants to win something, chances are they will. Still."

I was on my way out the door to play a little tennis with my daughter before it got too hot here, and we caught her remarks. What an exceptional class act it was for her to give the hat tip to Billie Jean King like that for bringing equity to women's tennis. I'll tell you what, I have no use for men's tennis as a spectator, but I can watch endless rounds of womens tennis because the finesse, power, strategy balance is still fairly harmonious and it's generally a joy to watch.

I don't know the stats, but I've got to believe that I'm not alone in terms of that sentiment - I suspect that womens tennis is the engine that drives the contemporary sport...,

But, man, I've been having fun searching around for info about the L.A. Mayor's 'Bad Behavior'. Since I never liked him, I don't feel sorry for him one bit. And, since they're in California, I hope his wife takes full advantage of Community Property Laws..
