This comes from the USA Today blog.
Mobile County, Ala., Circuit Judge Herman Thomas is accused of having prisoners brought from the jail so he could spank them in a small office near his courtroom, according to The Press-Register.
"Once inside the room, according to the sources, the judge would ask the young men to drop their pants and prepare to be spanked with what they described as a wooden or fraternity-like paddle," the paper says.
Here's what the judge, who has been suspended pending the outcome of an ethics review, had to say in response to the paper's questions about the allegations: "This is news to me. I don't have any comment."
In case you didn't figure it out, suspended Judge Herman Y. Thomas is Black. On one hand, the accounts of one Black man paddling another Black man is downright strange.
