Yes. I was 18 when that page was published.

my parents dressed me in oh-so-fashionable JC Penny clothes from preschool through junior high [the Evil Years 1970-79].  the day when i wrested sartorial self-determination from the clutches of JC Penny's soul-crushing aesthetic [or lack thereof] will live on as a glorious memory.  what's horrifying is that 20-something hipsters now wear this look as retro-cool.....talk about disturbing.

I'm saying I owned the blue pants (fortunately, in black). I chose them mugs.

Then there was the Flagg Bros. platforms. At 6'2", six inch platforms. And those pants. 

Shoot, I looked good in my Sears and JC Penney outfits. I don't know about the rest of you but I was sporting my threads. LOL.

... oh man, NOTHING I could say or do would convince my parents to buy me shoes from Flagg Bros... I should probably thank them for that now, but back then it put a serious crimp in my 8th-grade "game"...
