The News Hour discusses Clarence Thomas' autobiography

This is an interesting discussion. In particular, I find it interesting that he didn't want to be a Supreme Court justice. We'd have all been better off had he gotten his wish.

I also find Eugene Robinson's voice as interesting as he found VidkunThomas'. He gets his point across without using any words or phrases that can be interpreted as hostile...a difficult task.

Mr. Robinson definitely has skills

He did a good job.

Did you see Cornell West on Tavis - that was funny. He was trying to be philosophical about Uncle Clarence...he tried....but, it still didn't succeed. Good theater though.

Isn't it interesting how

Isn't it interesting how Landau gives this approving definition of affirmative action in explaining why Bush I thought Thomas was qualified, then turns right around and trashes the concept of affirmative action? And, isn't it interesting how Ifill lets him slide right on by?

Ifill was working the PBS

Ifill was working the PBS persona. But yes, the description of why Thomas was encouraged to see himself as the most qualified candidate was affirmative action in the purest form.
