All respect and no restraint

In trying to show how rich blue states are the real problem, the Associated Press shows how screwed the whole nation is

The is no state where less than one child in four is poor. [LATER: Oops...New Hampshire's rate is just over one in five.] And the rate is over 50% in too many states.

How low-income children fare

According to a study released by the Annie V. Casey Foundation, low-income children fared the best in Utah. The study, taken over two years, involved interviews with more than 102,000 households. The rankings are based on six categories such as children's health, social and emotional well-being and family activities. Shown with the rankings are the percentage of children in each state who are from low-income households.

Note: District of Columbia not included in report

OT for you..have you seen this?

This is an OT, but I'm watching C-Span right now

And he has the guy on doing One Laptop Per Child. He's showing kids in Brazil...will you explain to me why they can't do this in Watts, Appalachia, South Central, South Side of Chicago, Projects of Philly, Roxbury?

Wouldn't this be the way to equalize the Digital Divide across communities? Wouldn't this be the way to erase the technology gap between school systems?

Am I missing something here, or is this a case of being' too much like right' to work in this country?
