I just paused the video of this discussion between Gloria Steinem and Melissa Harris-Lacewell from Democracy Now. It's like Politics vs. Analysis, and it's demonstrative of a couple of horrible shocks the American nervous system will have to absorb:
- You really have to listen to Black folks
- Straight truth is pretty much unstoppable

Steinem seems kind of smug and muddled. Why is she a Clinton supporter when she believes that Obama is going to win the nomination? What is she there to defend?

I think that Gloria Steinem
I think that Gloria Steinem is a person of good will and good intentions who has found herself to be in an untenable situation. I think Melissa Harris-Lacewell forced her to think about things that she had overlooked and not considered. I will give Steinem some points for not trying to bluster her way through and maintaining a position that she upon reflection knew was flawed.
