Fuck if I know. Even Jesse Lee Patterson hasn't gone there. Orlando Patterson showed this morning in the NY Times. McWhorter has respect (though I think it's because he resembles Obama enough that he thinks he'll get some ass).

The accusations about Obama are so outrageous and wrong that it seems pointless to refute them. I feel especially sorry for those young people standing behind this clown whose minds are being filled with this Goebbels-like propaganda. I can't even imagine what it is like being raised by parents who are that ignorant.

I don't think I can ever get past this man talking about "big ole tits" in the pulpit. I cannot believe that people get out of bed on Sunday morning to listen to this kind of foolishness.

Truth be known, I have questioned Obama's parentage. His dad was a dead beat but I wouldn't call him a whore. After reading some things about Obama's lineage, I think his mom might have been somewhat of a social misfit and prime material for someone who'd marry/breed with an "African" in 1961 when mixed marriages were still outlawed in many states. Who else wanted her. Who would have then married another foreign colored man and moved her child to a place like Indonesia? I think she was a "flake." Given where he is now, I think he is glossing over how "painful" his childhood must have been. I don't think "mama" was wrapped too tight.

But, this preacher was off of the charts and totally off base. Obama Girl didn't launch his campaign and he didn't hire her. I just wish stupid people would shut up! Please, shut up!

Thing is, I know some seriously cool folks who fit the same profile. 

I know some okay folks too. But that doesn't change my mind about his lineage. The point is that, unlike folks like John McWhorter, he CHOSE a community that he'd never had a real link to and unlike a whole lot of brothas with black mamas who worked their behinds off, he chose a black woman to marry and raise his children with. He's always going to have more street cred than men like McWhorter and Harold Ford (who had two black parents).

I disagree. If Barack is part African then he had a REAL link to those of here who are also part African. His African ancestors did not have to be slaves. Your statements make me nostalgic for the 1960s and 1970s where in the Bay Area at least we accepted any black person without questioning their parentage. I'm so tired of these false divisions we have bought into now. 

I'm questioning upbringing ... It's not like he grew up in surroundings close to that of his wife's or of mine (pre-1976 when we moved to the burbs). I live in the Bay Area now and it's not like there is this group consciousness between blacks and all of the recent African immigrants (though there doesn't seem to be a bit of hesitation on their part when the black civic organizations are handing out scholarships to black students). Obama was raised by two white grandparents. Heck, sorry but the black folks I've met who've been adopted by white parents are a little odd until they find themselves. I'm sure he went through similar machinations but, like I said, he still chose. Despite how he looks, it probably would have been easier to choose the other side of his blood line.

Maybe in another country. There never has been a group consciousness between African Americans and recent African immigrants. Kwame Nkrumah, for example, was not treated well by the members of the black bourgeoisie at Lincoln University in Pennsylvania during the late 1940s when he was a student there. (And state sanctioned racial segregation was quite prevalent in Pennsylvania at that time.) What there has always been, however, is smaller group of more aware and conscious African Americans and Africans who could see past these so-called divisions and claim each other as brothers and sisters. 

What I am lamenting is the decline or loss of this worldview among those of us who should be able to see past the nonsense fomented by the bourgeois and nationalist elements in both the African American and African immigrant communities. However Obama's maternal grandparents raised him they did not raise him to dislike or feel distant from black people.

His name is James David Manning. He got pretty damn close to urging his listeners to cut off BHO's head (5:40). He claims (figuratively, I presume) that he will.

OK, I was very fond of Ms. Ettinger because, I'll admit, she's hot, she's funny, she has a really beautiful voice and face, and she's a good dancer. In case it's not clear, she said in an interview that she just did it as part of a spoof, and she has nothing whatever to do with the BHO campaign. The same Youtube Channel has a Ron Paul Girl. Anyway, Manning gives away the game on 0:40 by declaring that he first saw Obama's name on Ms. Ettinger's "tits" (actually, he means, her "T-shirt", because as we all know, BHO is the first presidential candidate to ever have his name on a T-shirt, and to have one of those shirts donned by a beautiful woman.) I first heard of Obama in 2004 when he gave the keynote address at the Democratic National Convention; Youtube, where all these videos are posted, was created in 2005.

This sort of thing goes on in some very poor 3rd world countries. I follow the media coverage of elections in certain places (Ecuador, Kenya, Sierra Leone), and they're pretty damned nasty. Some minister gets a hefty gift from candidate Z's political machine and shows his gratitude by calling for the murder of Z's opponent. A couple of years later, Z's opponent comes by with an even larger gift, and suddenly Z is the scum of the earth.

While I thought Manning jumped the rails on affirmative action (HRC is not exactly Jesse Helms, after all) , I did notice the DLC--HRC's supportive movement--denounces "liberalism" as if it were Stalinism. Crap, maybe's he knows something I didn't about Team Clinton's new program...

$250 million worth of housing and development is simply not remotely sufficient to warrant a vote.  Most developers could do that much business by changing the direction of their piss in the morning.  Ignant ass preachers preachin' 'bout shit beyond their expertise.  He should have stuck to the "Yo Momma!" Jokes.
