The "Power Line Forum" Open Thread

Someone at Power Line Forum got their hands on The Care and Feeding of White Folks and is using it to goad the members. To which I can only say...

Hi, fellas! When you're done with Care and Feeding I suggest Frequently Asked Questions About "U-People". And IF you're inclined to comment here, that's cool as long as your intent is to discuss, not just to offend.

Yes, we can tell the difference.

Oh, and if you do not have a new argument, don't bother...we've heard all your classics.

Link!

"Care and Feeding" link isn't working. Neither is the "U-people" link.

It's fixed now.

they are immensely entertaining.  thanks!

I just want to reiterate a

I just want to reiterate a point I introduced before. While White Americans knee-jerk and exaggerate about things Rev. Wright said in the relative privacy of his predominantly Black church, the Pat Buchanan's and Bill Bennett's of the world (and a host of others, liberal or conservative) have national, public platforms at their disposals. That they are routine/repeat offenders apparently matters not. They still are firmly entrenched in the American commentariat regardless.

Unlike Rev. Wright (or Obama), the "racism" of the Pat-Bills can readily be identified in substantial, tangible ways vs. the typical "typical white person" flap that's more slapstick than serious.

Question: Rev. Wright's "God damn America"... was it absolute or conditional?

And don't tell me the very people who rail against "political correctness" all-of-a-sudden want to be prudes.  That's all they got.  "God damn America" is a 'bad word' like sh*t and f*ck and now the 1st Amendment crowd crams into their nearest Holiday Inn for the magic sleep and start playing America's next top nun.

i need to amend my earlier comment

i was entertained by "Frequently Asked Questions..."   The other piece, "Care and Feeding...", well, wow.  I had to read it twice, and I'm looking forward to reading it again.  What a great vision.   I haven't ventured over to Powerline to see the fracas, but I have no doubt that many there have not been able to wrap their minds around it.
