All respect and no restraint

Talking about what McCain is now, not what he used to be

Guys like Scarborough,

Guys like Scarborough, Buchanan et al. continually talk over and interrupt anyone who disagrees with them especially if the person taking exception is a woman. I know that I couldn't take it at all. I recall once appearing on KPFA-FM and practically telling a former member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, who happened to be a woman, to shut up and stop interrupting me when I was talking. At that point, the show's host intervened and made her stop because he knew that my next move was to simply leave the studio

I don't know how Rachel Maddow can put up with that nonsense. And the boys who host these shows allow these guys to do it over and over again as if they are entitled to act that way.

Go Rachel wit yo bad self,

Go Rachel wit yo bad self, handle yo bidness woman!

Here is Farai Chideya on Real Time giving it back to Joe after continually being shouted down.  Look for it around 2:24.

I saw that episode, and though overall, FC gave a poor "performance" her thoughts were not gripping or even relevant to the conversation. There were many instances on that show were she let the conversation get away from her before she could inject a point.

I call it Media Tourettes Syndrome.

I don't think she gave a bad

I don't think she gave a bad performance--I think her points got lost in a wave of testoterone and vagina jokes.

HA!

Yeah,...

Farai Chedeya's Performance

I think she is too prone to employ the mainstream journalist's schtick of prefacing her assertions or questions with too many qualifiers. This ill-serves her in the context of a show like Maher's. It is somewhat tolerable on News & Notes (although I find it grating) but that is the preferred NPR style for that program. Maybe, for all NPR programs, which is why I seldom listen to NPR anymore since the run up to the American invasion and occupation of Iraq.
