Last week, over drinks, one Republican strategist not affiliated with the McCain campaign mused about how an independent advertising effort against Obama might work. “Barack Obama: He’s not who you think he is” would be the theme. The supporting evidence would come from his left-wing voting record in Illinois and Washington, spiced up with fun video clips of Reverend Wright.
"Independant," huh? Right.
And an experienced Democratic operative e-mailed: “Finally, I think [McCain’s] going to win. Obama isn’t growing in stature. Once I thought he could be Jimmy Carter, but now he reminds me more of Michael Dukakis with the flag lapel thing and defending Wright. Plus he doesn’t have a clue how to talk to the middle class. He’s in the Stevenson reform mold out of Illinois, with a dash of Harvard disease thrown in.”
Your experienced Democratic operative just got fired.
I am convinced William Kristol blackmailed someone at the NY Times. Or he has a contract to produce enough words to make a nice even rectangle of newsprint when the ads are taken into account. These are the only reasons I can think of to print such vacuity.

If the boy grows any taller every team in the NBA would be hustling to get him under contract.
Anybody who thinks that a guy from Chicago could transform himself into Jimmy Carter is either deluded or a liar. Jimmy Carter and his family apparently are not bothered by Obama's lack of resemblance to President Carter.
BTW, I'm middle class as are all of my friends and most of my family. None of us have a problem understanding Barack Obama. What middle class people is this unnamed experienced Democratic operative talking about?

I just love reading your comments. It's really funny, the desperateness of it all. I have no problem understanding Obama either, considering he's the one who is closest to the middle class. He's the one who has spent time worrying about how to pay bills. And, if you understand English, you understand Obama, because he knows how speak in entire paragraphs..LOL
