The Root's Problem
I read McWhorter's piece yesterday at The Root and wrote a short (three paragraphs) message addressing the issue that you raise about his position. My note never appeared in the comments section. This is the fifth time this has happened at that website. I can no longer believe that my comments are being flushed as a result of some glitch in their system. Whoever is monitoring the comments is intentionally excluding comments that take exception to the McWhorter/Cosby meme.

I threw out the rule book on civility when it comes to stuff like this. So, in twenty or thirty or forty years, McWhorter is going to pull a DuBios-Sowell-Cosby and say, "Whoooooooops!! I fucked up. While I was making my loot as a byatch to white folks, I pissed away valuable resources and served as a goddamn OBSTRUCTIONIST for authentic cultural formation and economic development among my people. My bad. I realize my error." It'll be too phukkin' late by then.
Thomas Sowell, 30 years after the fact, is now writing about how the culture, so derided by McWhorter, is actually the result of long-term exposure to ignant ass "white" folks from Scotland and Ireland. That shit ain't news, but it would've had his ass booted from Hoover long ago. He wouldn't have even made it through the Reagan Years.
Bottom line...McW has no standing and should be summarily told to SHUT THE FUCK UP on sight. Fa real.
If he ever wants to get serious and stop being a Manhattan Institute bitch and do some heavy lifitng, he can get a hearing...but otherwise...STFU - on sight.
