Someone beat Krugman with the stupid stick

No, seriously, let me be a little more specific: Krugman is a good professor of economics; Dan Luskin's attempts to attack him as a know-nothing on economics were a disaster.  But he and DeLong are opponents of Group W because they're incompetent, not because Krugman & DeLong are leftwing (or, in Usonian parlance, "liberal").

The Clinton Health Insurance Plan is a VERY BAD PLAN for the vast majority of Usonians.  If you already have health insurance, it reduces somewhat your premiums.  But if you don't you have to pay premiums whether you can afford them or not.  That sound to me as if HRC is proposing a head tax.   And we're supposed to hope that for all future time, Congress (which will always and for ever be run by liberal Democrats) will, out of its infinite generosity, vote in huge subsidies for low income households.

Seriously, a oft-repeated plug for the current HRC plan is that poor people can afford health insurance, but refuse to pay for it because their health is "too good" to make it advantageous for them. They have the disposable income, but they foolishly spend it elsewhere.
