You're right, rikyrah. I would like to point out, though, that the folk who are suspicious aren't treating Obama differently than any other candidate. Me, I think he's the best candidate (not the least bad, but good where all the others suck). Can't forget my own issues and understandings while I explain, and even represent a little, for his.

Hellishly complex situation...only it's not. It looks complex to folks with the wrong idea about Black folk and our various communities.

2. Now, he might not be a Muslim (the whole Rev. Wright thing made it mostly clear he's a Christian to all except for those who cling to idiocy). Now, we can't elect him because the radical Muslims will want to kill him because he's an Apostate.  My thinking is, Radical Muslims would want to kill ANY American President, but then again, I'm silly that way.

Like I said, this is just the current version of the " Obama hates the Jews" memo, so whatever he does to try and make clear his positions - for the 10 millionth time - is just something's he gotta do.

I got sympathy, but it's limited. I don't see that he's had to lie or anything so far. Republicans have been kind of scummy, but you had to know that going in. Some Black progressives are giving him grief, but they'd give anyone with his positions grief.

In the general election debates, Barack Obama should just come out when asked about Wright, and say that twenty years ago, when he was in his mid-20s, he was your say your understandably "angry black male", and that he had a family and found the Lord and let it all go, realized "the American dream" and blah, blah, blah. It's really about pacifying the white collective, and their belief in the "concept" of America, and meeting them where they are and taking it from there. This seems like a can't lose approach. Whites would probably understand that to some extent. This whole Wright episode has a silver lining. Having Barack Obama run like say, Juan Williams is not realistic. White people know that in their heart of hearts. I mean he has nothing in his background, aside from some kindergarten papers saying that he wanted to be president someday, he has to have gotten mad about something at some point. This should put the issue to rest.

I think he should just say, "We've been over that and you've already formed your opinion, so let's move on to the next question." Even if it's a reporter that asks. In fact, especially if it's a reporter.

I agree with P6. Obama should refuse to deal with questions on this b.s. anymore.
