I would have had a question
I would have had a question or two...or three. I don't have a video camera but I would have gotten one just for this purpose!!!
It's all very eerie sounding and gives me the chills...but, that's just like our government to do that.
in retrospect
My guess is that SS had an event scheduled in Lafayette Park and didn't want to have to spend a lot of time investigating "suspicious" office windows in that building. If all the windows are uniformly closed (easily monitored with a visual sweep), that removes/reduces one potential threat vector.
"Threat vector"... i made that up. I have no background in the art of police enforcement...
