I hate the man but I'll admit that he's giving a spirited and clever speech. But it's pissing me off how EVERY TIME he makes fun of Obama, the camera cuts to a black person hooting with laughter in the audience.

I'm not saying folks can't be Republicans but how does it feel, black delegates, to knowingly be used as an agent to cut the feet from under another black man? Just curious.

On the issues, brother. On the issues and never back off on the issues. Don't concede anything. Don't ever apologize and stick to the issues. Always. Stay as relentless and focussed as your opponents.

I watched the pictures of New Orleans during the last storm. There is no way that those flood walls will stand up to cat. 4 or 5 direct hit on N.O..
The water was overtopping the walls, there were loose boats in the shipping channel that could have impacted the flood walls. The basic structure of New Orleans needs to be changed as those canal and shipping channel walls will always be the weak point in the flood protection scheme.
I watched a TV program called "Engineering Disasters" about the Katrina disaster. Most of the pumping stations prior to Katrina were antiques and their electrical setup was a joke because the taxpayers in New Orleans would not fund the munincipal bonds to upgrade them. I think those problems have been fixed.

But, I agree with pt - on the issues. stay on her issues and her stances and her lies, and tie her to McAncient's JUDGMENT.

And one more thing: Obama's wife needs to caution him against that gentlemen bulls*** that he likes to pull as if he is back in the first grade or something.

It was excellent, though Venus straight blew it. I watch her double fault twice and still win the first game but once Serina warmed up there was no room for error. She provided one of the greatest displays of athleticism I've seen in years. Serina reached shots and returned them that were amazing, but it was because Venus put the shots there. Yet Venus blew a triple match point when she lost the second tiebreaker, and therefore the match.

Most pundits gushed over Palin's speech. I thought she delivered it unconvincingly; the audience applause also seemed contrived.

I have read some people claim this is the best speech given in a while, and even that this may be the new Reagan. Not from this speech. I ran for student body president in Jr High and High school, and Palin's performance brought me back to those days. The tentativeness of her cadence, the mechanicalness of her demeaner were obvious to me.

She also lied once again about her record. In this age of youtube and google, why bother?

The Williams sisters played an exciting match but I have to believe that Venus' heart is aching this morning. She missed easy shots in the first set while up at three set points and she blew four or five set points in the second set. What was worse is that in the two tie breakers she was forced to play as a result of losing set points is that she was far ahead of Serena and only needed to win one point to win the tiebreaker and the set. I don't understand what happened Venus's game. Serena played a great game but I think Venus gave her the match.
