Judge rules Army engineers liable for Katrina flooding
NEW ORLEANS -- A federal judge ruled Wednesday that the Army Corps of Engineers' failure to properly maintain a navigation channel led to massive flooding in Hurricane Katrina....
Duval awarded the plaintiffs $720,000, or about $170,000 each, but the decision should give more than 100,000 other individuals, businesses and government entities a better shot at claiming billions of dollars in damages.

From what I have read one plaintiff was denied, however, I hope that the citizens and businesses will follow through with there own claims. I was astonished that the judge ruled in there favor. It's still ironic to see what the corp of engineers have done after Katrina which appears to still be subpar.
