A good effort, but Chris Rock doesn't have to worry yet

Hey, it's a decent set, and he's playing at TED.  He's going for puncturing Middle East stereotypes with humor, not just a straight set.  How shocking that a mid-level comic isn't as polished as one of the best people in his field. (Also, Rock became much funnier and edgier only with his 2nd HBO special, and has explained how he changed his approach.)  All of the Axis of Evil comics are decent, and they bring a different perspective. But thanks for posting the clip.

I support the effort. Even

I support the effort so if I found nothing funny I wouldn't have posted it.

Uh, yes, you posted it, but

Uh, yes, you posted it, but that wasn't my point at all.  If 90% of comics aren't as funny as Chris Rock - duh - what's the point of even pointing that out - and not even in the post body, but in your post title?  It reads as a pretty snotty critique, which is par for the course on the internet tubes.  But it also seems like you're trying to disown that now.  Do you have a video of you doing standup that others can evaluate for comparison?  Look, this isn't a huge deal, and the other content on your site seems thoughtful.  But what if someone went through each post and commented, "Not as good as [other blogger/famous writer]?"  FWIW, when I read your post, "supportive" is not the conclusion I get.  Okay?  And if that's your "voice," that's fine, but then own it, and it's only fair to take some criticism in response. That's all.  Anyway, that's more than enough on something pretty small - have a good weekend and happy blogging.

Oh.

My titles always read like snotty critiques to those whose ox they gore. I have to explain sometimes, but all reasonable people expect to have to do that on occasion.
