That ought to settle the whole discussion

The weighty question is, was Paris mollycoddled because she's a celebrity or penalized for being rich and famous? The sheriff says a typical non-violent offender serves less than 10 percent of his or her sentence, and house arrest and phone-in court dates are the norm. Good points. But the judge didn't throw the book at Paris Hilton because she's Paris Hilton; he did it because she'd been caught violating probation -- twice -- and she didn't seem to be getting the message. So the sheriff is right, but the judge is righter. This is sooooooooooooo much easier to solve than immigration reform. And on a Saturday morning, which would you rather read about?

We thought so.
